We’d like to welcome you to the launch of Wisconsin Technology News, and the timing for this launch really could not be much better.
On October 4, Apple is expected to introduce the new iPhone 5 at a press briefing. What will this mean to the smartphone community? As with everything Apple does, the actual product is cloaked in secrecy, but the fact remains that this is an exciting week for iPhone users and the smartphone community.
We can’t predict the future, but we can look to the past for some facts. The Apple iPhone truly changed the world when it was introduced back in 2007, and each subsequent generation has taken smartphone use to a new level.
And it continues to grow, not just for iPhone users but also for Android users and all the other options out there and to come in the future. In the three years after the first iPhone was introduced, AT&T’s data traffic increased more than 8,000 percent, and that growth continues across all carriers and phone platforms.
With the rollout of our first week of technology coverage in Wisconsin, we’d like you to think of us as that first-generation iPhone, unveiled a mere four years ago. We’re bringing a unique, technology minded voice to the Wisconsin blogosphere.
