Following up on the mobile broadband service activated this summer in Eau Claire, AT&T announced today that they had added additional capacity in the area.
AT&T added “carriers” or enhancements in 24 cell sites throughout the Eau Claire area. These enhancements should more efficiently manage available broadband as demand for wireless service continues to grow. One tech guru we spoke with compared the carrier additions to adding lanes to a highway. With AT&T’s major enhancements, Eau Claire-area residents should notice fewer dropped calls, better service coverage and faster internet speeds.
We’re excited to hear AT&T is making major investments in this area of the state and AT&T Wisconsin’s state president seems to agree, according to the press release: “Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience. As part of the Eau Claire community, we’re always looking for new opportunities to provide an enhanced customer experience and our investment in the local wireless network is just one way we’re accomplishing that,” said Scott VanderSanden, president of AT&T Wisconsin.
