Since the weekend is just hours away, I thought it would only be appropriate to share the new Twitter application Tweet-a-Beer that allows users to buy drinks through the social networking site.
Tweet-a-Beer uses Chirpify (see my previous post here), an e-commerce application that allows users to buy, sell and donate money throughTwitter by syncing their PayPal account. Tweet-a-Beer lets users send beer money in $5 increments.
The application is making its debut at SXSW and Wisconsin residents lucky enough to make the trip to Austin should try out Tweet-a-Beer at the MKE Shindig March 12. The event will showcase live music, food, drinks and technology from Brew City.
Tweet-a-Beer seems to be more of a novelty application than one I’d use regularly. Although it’s a great tool for those who want to spread happy hour cheer to all their friends.
