Windows 8 set for fall release

PC loyalists anxiously waiting for a new OS may be relieved to know Microsoft’s launch of Windows 8 is tentatively set for October. Microsoft developers are expected to meet their summer deadline, paving the way for a fall release just in time for the holiday season.

Microsoft is expected to host an event in April to reveal the exact release dates and new products at that time. A demo of Windows 8 was released in February to good reviews, so I’m curious to see what Microsoft comes up with. As a PC user who frequently thinks about switching over to Apple, Windows 8 may just make or break my relationship with Microsoft.
